Wednesday was our investor and demo day at the Boulder Theater. Everyone worked hard all summer to get to this point, and it was great for the teams to all get the chance to pitch in front of 150+ investors.

We could sense that the teams were all getting a bit stressed out, so we did a few fun things leading up to investor day just to get the founders to chill out a bit.  We organized massages on Monday, and I think this really helped. But probably what helped more than anything was taking an organized hour off together last Friday and having some fun making a lip dub video.

This was the second take we did. It’s obviously not perfect, but we decided we weren’t going to spend more than an hour on this, so we just went with it. I’m pretty amazed how well it came out given that everybody just made up their part on the fly.

You gotta have fun. I think this paid off – investor day had a great energy this year and everyone really delivered with their pitch. You can’t forget to have a little fun while you’re cranking on your startup.
