During each application process, we host Techstars For A Day. As I’m writing this, these events are coming up in both Seattle and NYC (where applications are still open, but not for long).

Techstars For A Day is an invitation only event, and is unfortunately not open to all applicants. We’ve been inviting teams that we’d like to learn more about but we’re short on space at the venue and can only have about 100 people attend. This means we can invite approximately 50 companies, out of several hundred that have already applied. Teams that applied earlier have more of a chance of being invited. Also, if we’ve already spent some time with your team, we may not invite you in order to give us the chance to meet more companies.

We always have to remind everyone that attendance at Techstars for a Day is absolutely not required for acceptance into Techstars. In fact, in the past we’ve seen 3 or 4 teams that attended Techstars for a Day ultimately get accepted into the final 10 or so spots. This means that most of the accepted teams do not attend Techstars for a Day! So if you don’t receive an invitation, it absolutely does not mean that you’ve been cut from consideration.

Thanks for your understanding. We’re looking at ways to revamp this event to be more inclusive of those interested in Techstars in the future.
