On behalf of the StartupWeekend Space Team, I would like to introduce you to one of our judges, Chad Anderson. He will assess your team and your final product on Sunday evening, evaluating your business model, customer validation, technical and design execution.

Biography
Chad Anderson

Chad Anderson works at the intersection of early-stage capital and the emerging commercial space industry as Managing Director of Space Angels Network. Based in London, he also works with the UK government to develop and commercialize the UK space industry by accelerating startups and mobilizing investment in space ventures. In the past, Chad has worked with a space robotics company and developed the first ever market assessment for commercial lunar transportation. Chad is a prominent advocate of the emerging space industry, with numerous public papers, speaking engagements, and interviews on the subject.

Chad holds an MBA from the University of Oxford with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He also holds Finance and Economics degrees from Seattle University, magna cum laude. Prior to graduate school, he spent three years as Director of Finance for an aviation startup and five years as Business Manager for JP Morgan Chase. With experience in all aspects of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Chad is intimately familiar with the opportunities and challenges faced by both entrepreneurs and investors.

Additionally, Chad is an avid volunteer and social entrepreneur earning recognition from both the President of the United States and JP Morgan Chase as Volunteer of the Year for his work supporting the marketing and development efforts of Seattle Children’s Theatre. He was Chairman of the Oxford Social Impact Network, a group of 200+ students using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems, and served for two years on the Board of Directors for Greenside Development Foundation, a social enterprise focused on youth entrepreneurship and business incubation in Morocco.
