On behalf of the StartupWeekend Space Team, I would like to introduce you to one of our judges, Manfred Jaumann. He will assess your team and your final product on Sunday evening, evaluating your business model, customer validation, technical and design execution.
Manfred Jaumann is currently Head of Operations Engineering & Services at Airbus Defence & Space, Business Line Space Systems in Bremen, Germany. Manfred has been with the Airbus Group since 1991, where he has held many positions at several locations and business sectors throughout Europe. Some of his many experiences include Head of Engineering Services, Head of Site Relations & New Projects, Head of International Affairs, and Head of Marketing with Airbus Defence & Space, Business Line Space Systems (formerly Astrium Space Transportation). He also has experience as the CEO of BEOS GmbH and Head of Offset Directorate at DASA Headquarters.
Manfred received his Master’s Degree in Air and Space Technology from the University of German Armed Forces Munich. He also received a diploma in Industrial Engineering and International Marketing from AKAD University. Manfred’s other experiences include serving in the German Armed Forces. He was a Captain in the German Air Force where he received an officer education in Surface-to-Air Missile systems such as HAWK and PATRIOT.
