The most exciting moment of the Startup Weekend Aarhus 2015 has come. After endless hours of intensive work, the big moment is finally here.

Are YOU looking forward to know who won this great contest?!

Before I tell you the final results, I would like to point out that all the teams were fantastic!!! Great pitches, awesome ideas and an amazing environment ! It was not easy for the judges to make a decision. I’m sure you can’t wait to see which are the highlight teams of the night, so let’s go straight to the point.

The top three winning teams of the Startup Weekend Aarhus 2015 are (tan tan tan taaaann):

1. Overall Winner: Dently

2. Best Pitch: Who’s hungry

3. Best use of Open Data: Back to Basic

This was definitely one of the best moments of the weekend that everyone has been looking forward to. The feeling of joy, pride, and achievement in everyone’s faces. This simply made the entire event worth it.

We had the chance to interview the Overall Winning Team to get to know what were their feelings after their accomplishment, and to share their thoughts about the weekend in general.

All the members of Dently were overwhelmed and a little surprised by the results. They were not expecting to win which makes their excitement even bigger. They said the Startup Weekend is like a ‘rollercoaster’ experience. There were always ups and downs, and during those 54 hours you can easily switch from excitement to frustration and vise versa. But hey, that’s part of the process! Since the first pitch on friday they changed their initial idea a lot, but there were no regrets as the benefits of this transition were very much needed to develop the idea.

Based on their experience, the winning team gave us some usefull advices/tips for the future participants of Startup Weekend:

1. Focus on your idea

2. Never give up on your idea if you really believe in it

3. Don’t try to catch the trends, create something new

4. Be more realistic and down-to-earth

5. Pitch your idea as clear as possible

I would like to congratulate everyone for their devotion and hard work throughout the weekend, we made this experience more than awesome !!!
