My name is Todd Goldberg – I’m one of the founders of Eventjoy and we provide mobile engagement and fee-free ticketing for events. I pitched a variation of the idea at Startup Weekend Tampa back in November 2012, which is also where I met my co-founder Karl. Since then, we’ve been laser focused on creating a product that is redefining how people organize and experience events. We’re ecstatic to have the opportunity to provide the mobile experience for the UP Summit in Las Vegas this week. With it, attendees will be able to have access to all of the event information, interact with other attendees, and get instant updates from the organizers. If you’re attending the Summit I would love to meet you, just look for the guy in the bright red Eventjoy shirt!
A full ticketing experience
In our first version, when you bought tickets you were unable to access them through mobile after the purchase. Those days are behind us. Now you can buy tickets, access them on demand, and send them to Passbook.
More social and more awesome
Find an event you like or did you just join the community and want to invite friends? Well now you can spread the word easily. Share with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, SMS, and through email.
Instantly join the community
Now whether you buy tickets or not, you can instantly join the community to access all of the event information (schedule, speakers, artists, venue maps, etc.), engage with other attendees, and get real-time updates from the organizer. We’ve even improved how you access the community. No more waiting for the event information to finish downloading before you can join. Simply join the community and the app will download the information behind the scenes.
Better integration with Maps and your calendar
Ready to go to the event? We’ll automatically show the venue on a map and let you navigate there with one tap. You can even save your events directly to your calendar with a single tap.
One profile for everything
You can now login and use your profile across all of your events. Access your tickets, see the events you’re attending/have attended, and link all of your social networks to maximize your in-event experience.
New minimal, clean design
We designed the experience to better match iOS7 standards. While doing that, we focused on creating a minimal design that matched our branding in the web app (red and white). Below are a few other select screenshots of some of the features.
This is our most engaging and beautiful app yet. We worked day and night to make this happen so quickly; just in time for some major events we’re powering like San Francisco Brit Week, UP Global’s UP Summit, and Y Combinator’s Startup School.
You can download the app from the App Store right now by going here.
Also, check out our nifty app page here that has a quick highlight video of the app.
Thanks to your feedback (keep it coming) we have a long list of exciting things to build for you to make organizing and experiencing events even better. Next up in queue is a completely new event website experience (HTML capabilities included) and a unique event organizer app for quick check in. Look out for both in the next few weeks.
