Looks like the month of September will be full of Startup Weekend events not just all over the United States, but the whole world as well. And Toronto is joining in on the Startup Weekend Fun.
Here’s the Startup Weekend rundown: participants gather on the first day to pitch their startup ideas, and the best ideas will be worked on by different teams on the second day. Third day will be a presentation day, when all polished startup ideas will be pitched. Of course, the last day of Startup Weekend won’t end without awarding the best team with the best startup idea.
Typically, these three days start from Friday until Sunday, all within 54 hours. It may be fun, but it is also challenging and stressful as well Nevertheless, it’s all worth it. And to make it all more worth the sweat and stress, Startup Weekend Toronto is proud to announce that Ryerson Angel Network (RAN) will award the winning team with a $500 prize money. And if your team isn’t the winning one, don’t be disappointed: RAN might award the best team, but it’ll also be scouting for startups with high potentials.
RAN will also be there at the event to lend their hands to the different teams to build a more successful startup launch come Sunday. With their mandate to “provide funding, mentorship, and resources to youth-let business within Southern Ontario,” that is what exactly they will give to Startup Weekend participants. So expect nothing but the best from RAN.
Everyone is welcome to join whether you’re a designer, marketing, entrepreneur, or a programmer. Startup Weekend Toronto will be at Ryerson University on September 24 until the 26th, so grab your ticket before it’s too late. See you!
