To call the first day of Global Entrepreneurship Week jam-packed with activity is an understatement. On November 12, not only will a dozen or so Startup Weekends be kicking off but Women 2.0 marks the occasion with Founder Friday in Boston. Like the appetizers served, Founder Friday Boston will whet the appetites of those who go to network and talk shop. In both senses, appetites are then amply satisfied during the kickoff of Startup Weekend Boston.
Founder Friday is a uniquely positioned networking event where entrepreneurs of every stripe can meet owners of local businesses. Women 2.0 has been very active in promoting similar gatherings across Startup Weekend cities to create a business environment where women can forge ahead with their own ventures. Boston Founder Friday boasts an attendee list that includes several figures from local industry including (to name a few) Account Executive Diana Epsteen of Jumptap or Microsoft’s own Startup Evangelist Aby Fichtner.
Since it runs on a schedule, Founder Friday participants will be heading over to Startup Weekend Boston after the social ends- at 7:15 pm sharp. This means participants of both events reach the NErd Center right in time for the pitches! Founder Friday will be held at Za Restaurant (5:15pm reservations have been made) in Kendall Square, with hostess duties courtesy of Ali Powell. Ms. Powell is the founder of Boston WomenPreneurs.
