In 2004, at the age of 26, Adrian Hewlett founded The Habari Group, a media and marketing communications company. The company was the partner to MSN in Africa for seven years and then went on to launch the commercial operations for Facebook in Africa in 2010, while counting the likes of the BBC and LinkedIn amongst its partners. In 2012 with an annual group turnover of R150 million, Adrian led the company through a major re-organisation of its agency offering which saw the consolidation and launch of MACHINE, now one of South Africa’s leading integrated digitally focused agencies. The agency was then aquired by French advertising giant Publicis Groupe in September 2014 and Adrian serves as CEO of the newly branded Publicis Machine. The agency continues on its upward path, is now one of the largest agencies in South Africa and was once again voted “national agency to watch” in 2015 as well as runner up for the “most integrated agency in SA”.
