I've spent a lot of time scouting and analyzing startups, forming strategic partnerships between them and corporates, and helping corporates navigate their way through new technologies and business models to stay ahead of the competition.
Some things I've done to date, but look forward to doing more with the incoming batch of start-ups:
Re: Ops: Tripling the Founders Intelligence team from 5 employees to 15 by creating and implementing light-weight internal processes, leading the recruitment and training programs for the company. This led to massive time savings for the team and increasing retention of new hires.
Re: Strategy: Probably my favourite project was helping a Brazilian entrepreneur get a sustainable business model for his social impact solar business - you can read about it here! http://www.wired.co.uk/article/makethefuture-bring-the-light-insolar
Re: Sales: Learning how to sell a commodity (oil) to a bunch of baby boomers on value, rather than just price
Re: Marketing: Designing & implementing a nation-wide process of retrofitting 500+ car wash sites when working as a co-op at Petro-Canada
Re: PR: Writing news releases as a co-op for Polar that were featured in national newspapers like the Globe & Mail
