Julie is a Principal at Madrona Venture Group and leads investments in early-stage companies. She launched the Seattle Entrepreneurial Women’s Network (SEWN), was named Geekwire’s “2014 Geek of the Year”, and to the Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. She has also been a featured speaker about entrepreneurship at the annual international We Day event held at Seattle’s Key Arena for 15,000 local youth. Julie is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Washington where she teaches an MBA course on Entrepreneurship at the Foster School of Business. Prior to Madrona, she worked as senior product manager at Amazon on the Kindle, at TeachStreet (a Madrona portfolio company acquired by Amazon in 2012), and at Microsoft and Accenture.
Julie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with both a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and received an MBA with honors from Harvard Business School.
