Joe Heitzeberg is the CTO at WhitePages.com, a top-50 consumer people search. He overseas technology, M&A and HR for the company. Previously he was co-founder and CEO of Snapvine.com, a mobile social networking service backed by DFJ, First Round Capital and others and acquired by WhitePages in 2008. Joe began his career at Paul Allen’s Starwave Corporation where he built some of the earliest interactive, paid internet services for ESPN.com and ABCNEWS.com. In 1998 he incubated and sold a hosted ecommerce startup, JoeMart, to Infoseek.com that subsequently became the basis for GO.com’s Auctions and Stores services. Between 2001 and founding SnapVine, he worked for Openwave Systems, helping to bring their mobile browser platform to carriers in Japan and Europe. Joe holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
