Mark Solon

Managing Partner, Techstars

Mark is a Managing Partner at TechStars. Previously, he co-founded Highway 12 Ventures in 2000 and has been in the venture capital industry since 1995 when he joined Atlantic Capital Group, a Boston-based private equity firm as a general partner. He’s a director of multiple Highway 12 portfolio companies and is the past Chairman of the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association.

Deeply passionate about Boise and Idaho, he is on the advisory board of the College of Engineering at Boise State University and serves on the Board of Directors of the Idaho Technology Council as well as co-chairing the Idaho Business Council. Mark is also formerly President of the Board of Directors of the Discovery Center of Idaho, Boise’s fantastic science museum. He pens his thoughts on startups and entrepreneurship at his blog – To Write Is To Think. He enjoys cycling, running, photography and getting lost in the backcountry of Idaho with his family and friends. More than anything, he delights with his wife Pam in the wonder of watching their children grow into young adults.
