It’s been just over a month since the first STANLEY+Techstars Accelerator Demo Day. We’re now at work planning our second year. Applications will open again in January 2019.

One key difference for our second year, is that we’ve decided to broaden the aperture from companies focused on Additive Manufacturing to also include companies who are working on solutions for Eco-friendly Sustainable Packaging Solutions.

Stanley Black & Decker has put forth strategic plans to create a more sustainable world. For our 2019 class of ten companies, we will be looking for five companies working on additive manufacturing solutions and five companies working on eco-friendly sustainable packaging solutions.

At Techstars, we work to help founders consolidate 2 years of startup life into 13 weeks during our accelerators through access to a proven playbook and exceptional mentors, and I know that we helped companies participating in our first year.

During the 2018 program, founders gained access to approximately 100 world-class mentors in the form of founder stories, lead mentors, and more.

The following are just a few views into what a week in the STANLEY+Techstars Accelerator can look like:

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more information about the details of the 2019 program, my schedule and location for office hours, and news about additional mentors participating! I’m excited to see what innovative new companies will apply.
