In 2019 we’ve seen blockchain startups taking the headlines once again with the Bitcoin price trebling, Facebook entering in the blockchain fray, and the successful completion of the inaugural Alchemist Blockchain Techstars Accelerator in New York City.

The promise of decentralization and a trustless economy is starting to garner global attention from Fortune 50 companies, venture capitalists, and even the United States Congress. These are some of the many reasons we are excited to announce the opening of applications for the second class of the Alchemist Blockchain Techstars Accelerator.

Over the next two months, we will be hosting open office hours across the world looking for inspirational founders that are solving big problems and tackling even bigger opportunities with blockchain technology. In December, we’ll invest $1.2m into 10 startups ($120,000 USD each) and invite them to join us for our 13-week mentorship driven program in New York on February 1, 2020.

As the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed, we’ve seen firsthand how the combination of expert mentorship and influence can drastically alter the trajectory of success for a startup. Our selected startups will therefore work closely with over 100 curated mentors from within the global blockchain and New York startup community.

To date, Techstars has invested in 50+ blockchain companies with a combined portfolio value surpassing $600m and 92% of those companies still alive today. We know what it takes to find and help game changing founders, who will gain access to unique blockchain expertise, proven methodologies to accelerate their growth and increase their access to capital.
