The Shopify Partner Accelerator enables creative professionals from the ecommerce industry to come together, work on Shopify projects, and grow their technical and entrepreneurial skills faster than they would be able to anywhere else. Not only will successful applicants work in stunning WeWork co-working spaces, they’ll also receive exclusive mentorship, attend hands-on workshops, and meet with Shopify leadership, key members of our development team, and long-time Shopify Experts. This three-month intensive program has expanded to include four different locations across North America and Europe: New York City, USA; Montreal, Canada; London, England; and Austin, USA.

Ask PAM, a Techstars Startup Next Montreal alumni in the Hospitality Technology field, is set to pitch before investors and judges at Google’s Mountain View, Calif. headquarters on November 2 for Google Demo Day: Women edition 2016. “Google has received more than 800 applicants from over 65 countries, which is a true testament to the great companies women are building globally,” wrote Google.
Founded by former hospitality concierge expert Pamela Alfred, the Montreal-based startup “Ask PAM” is a web based CRM for hospitality concierges that allows hotels to improve their concierges’ productivity, while engaging with the guests preferred communication channels. Ask PAM is currently operating in 15 cities worldwide (Montreal, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Dubai, Berlin, Accra and many others) with over 100 Concierges servicing 100k clients yearly.
“It’s a nice feeling to see that people are giving us an opportunity and they’re recognizing what we’re doing,” said Pamela Alfred, the startup’s founder. “It’s been a long process and it hasn’t always been easy. We’ve learned from past experience, we’ve improved and it looks like now is our time. We’re ready to take this on.”

Founded by a former educator Philip Cutler, the Montreal-based EdTech startup GradeSlam is the online learning center that specializes in humanized adaptive learning for students K-12, and has facilitated over 350,000 tutoring sessions with students in over 80 countries. Their personalized educational support equips teachers and administrators with actionable insights on how students learn outside of the classroom.
The tutoring industry’s business model has always been to charge students by the hour for each session. But that model is flawed, according to Philip Cutler, CEO of GradeSlam: “Students shouldn’t pay for the hour,” he says. “They should pay to have access to these people whenever they need them.”
