Techstars Patriot Boot Camp is an intense three-day program in July of 2012 that will educate and mentor Veterans and Service Members to innovate, build technology companies, and create jobs. Participation in the Patriot Boot Camp will be the catalyst for Veterans and Service Members to kickstart a company, find co-founders, and advance as entrepreneurs.

Patriot Boot Camp will include presentations by Techstars mentors, alumni, and technology industry leaders, one-on-one mentoring from the Techstars Team, Techstars Alumni, and industry leaders, interaction with other motivated entrepreneurs, education on the process to build a technology startup, interaction with successful D.C. startups, access to startup community resources, and peer and mentor feedback. The mentors and speakers will be drawn from the rich pool of our mentors, alumni, and friends of the Techstars community. These are highly motivated individuals who are emotionally invested in supporting Veteran entrepreneurs.

The program will conclude with a Digital Demo Day, similar in form to the Techstars Demo Day. The event will be the summation of the Patriot Boot Camp experience for the Veteran or Service Member. Over the course of the three-day program, the presentations by Techstars mentors and one-on-one mentoring will guide the participant to solidify a business idea, focus their fundraising pitch, improve their accelerator application, refine their product concept, or demonstrate progress as it relates to their entrepreneurial path. Each participant or group of participants will deliver a short presentation on Digital Demo Day to share their progress. We’ll invite investors and media, and broadcast and promote the event online. Apply to Patriot Boot Camp which happens July 18-20 here. We are grateful to our sponsors: the Kauffman Foundation, Kauffman FastTrac, Silicon Valley Bank, SoftLayer, and Prediculous, as well as our venue sponsor of Georgetown University. We are also proud to be endorsed by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families.

In the coming months, we will work to create new opportunities for a larger audience of entrepreneurs by building relationships with selected applicants and our alumni network. Techstars recognizes that there are some demographic groups that are underrepresented among technology startup founders so we created the RisingStars program. The goal is to extend technology company startup opportunities to demographic groups that are currently underrepresented in the technology startup community. See all of the information.

Patriot Boot Camp is organized and run by Taylor McLemore and Tom Chikoore.

Taylor McLemore is the co-founder of Prediculous and also of Cameroon Development Fund. He is a behaviorist and lover of all things competitive, avid skier of powder, fan of great bike rides, an aspiring fisherman, lover of great scotch, husband, and lucky friend.

Chikoore is the Director of the new RisingStars program at Techstars. He was the CTO and co-founder of Filtrbox, a 2007 Techstars company, which was acquired by Jive Software, and has now devoted to living his life in the startup lane. With Chikoore’s leadership, the RisingStars program extends technology company startup opportunities to demographic groups that are currently underrepresented in the technology startup community.

I am a Veteran and the founder of BuckGet.com . I applied for Techstars New York for the Fall 2015 program at the advice of Paul Gregory, who asked me to contact Taylor McLemore for further assistance regarding the Patriot Boot Camp in New York.

My brother and sister work for Yahoo and Amazon in New York City, so I would be staying 9 minutes away at my brother or sisters place in Greenwich village near Google NYC. It would be perfect, and I could really use the support from techstars, Patriot Boot Camp and my brother and sister.

I tried to log in to f6s today and I was locked out. I tried to log in, reset my password and start a new account several times. My post on the main message thread for Techstars was deleted.

Was my application for techstars deleted? Is there another way to apply or reinstate my f6s account? What can I do? When is the next Patriot Boot Camp in NYC? I have so many questions… please call me as soon as possible 724-840-2654 .

    Thank you,
    Veteran Founder of BuckGet.com
