Startup Weekend Kicks Off For the First Time in Valparaiso. Why Attend?

Entonces, quieres participar?

Nos encantaria que participes. Tickets pueden entontrarse aqui:

This coming weekend, November 14th-16th, marks the 1st ever Startup Weekend taking place in Valparaiso.

This is my first time organizing a Startup Weekend, but I’ve attended three previous (Seattle, San Francisco, and Amsterdam). Why did I spend my own money to attend those events?

The biggest reason was to meet and spend time with people who are interested in similar things. To build a company, you cannot do it alone. Without a community of team members, supporters, partners, and customers, a startup stands virtually zero chance of success. It’s of course possible, but not at all likely.

To practice pitching. As a general rule, the more opportunities to practice public speaking, the better off you are as an entrepreneur.

Gain skills, teamwork experience, and learnings to help you on your next startup. Building companies is hard. Additional experience and learnings in stressful situations with team members can be drawn on later when the stakes are higher.

Connecting with mentors and judges. At every Startup Weekend, there are several great mentors and judges (you can look to learn about the ones attending Startup Weekend Valparaiso). You have to take the initiative to speak to them, but it’s an instant in to new connections with lots of experience, since they are already in the same room with the explicit intent to help attendees.

So, are you in for this weekend?

We’d love to have you attend. Tickets can be found here:
