Innovation and entrepreneurship will take center stage this December at the 2013 mHealth Summit, the largest global conference and expo focused on the intersection of mobile/wireless and healthcare delivery. Here’s a list of some of the must-attend activities for venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and startups at this year’s mHealth Summit in Washington, D.C.
- AOL Co-Founder Steve Case and leading angel investor Esther Dyson will engage in a dynamic fireside chat moderated by Steven Krein, CEO and Co-Founder of StartUp Health. This dynamic exchange will explore how this new age of entrepreneurship is creating an innovation landscape for entrepreneurs and investors never before seen in healthcare.
- Venture+ Forum, a pre-Summit event scheduled for Dec. 8, will kick off with a keynote address from Jack Young, Director of the Qualcomm Life Fund at Qualcomm Ventures. The Venture+ Forum is a unique platform for showcasing transformative technology and exploring investment opportunities to bring healthcare innovations to market. The event will spotlight new and emerging mobile health companies, showcase diverse funding sources and offer opportunities for networking with several hundred investors and innovators in mobile health and health IT. Eric Koester, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Data Collateral, will also speaking at the event about business model innovation as a competitive differentiator in healthcare.
- Innovation Zone on the exhibit hall floor of the mHealth Summit will showcase up to 70 innovators who are focusing on mobile health, gaming and aging markets. This 13,000 sq. ft. collective hub will be anchored by Games for Health, StartUp Mobile HealthandAging. Plus select companies from the Venture+ Forum will be exhibiting in the space.
