UP Global: A new organization that connects entrepreneurs with their communities and the resources they need most.

Joining Forces with the Startup America Partnership

Along with the Startup America Partnership, we’re proud to announce the formation of UP Global, a new organization supporting the creation of vibrant entrepreneurial communities around the world. With generous support from The Kauffman Foundation, the Case Foundation, Google for Entrepreneurs, Microsoft and The Coca-Cola Company, UP Global will combine the impact and reach of Startup Weekend’s action-based programs with Startup America Partnership’s deep expertise in building strong regional ecosystems. UP Global will leverage the strengths of both organizations to build a more comprehensive offering that bolsters entrepreneurial communities across the globe.

“Our vision is that each region will help drive an ambitious spectrum of meaningful activities with widespread support and participation from all individuals  within each ecosystem. UP Global will incorporate the necessary meaning and structure around the groundswell of grassroots activity so that entrepreneurs will have full clarity as they seek the help they need, when they need it.” — Marc Nager, Startup Weekend CEO and UP Global President.

This is truly a response to the increasing demand for better consolidation of and access to entrepreneurial resources on a more connected community level, and we’re excited to begin building better tools, supporting local leaders, and empowering more entrepreneurs worldwide through their own communities. We aim to make entrepreneurship a global possibility and rewarding opportunity for anyone, regardless of where they call home. Everyone, everywhere should have access to the tools they need on a local level.
