Olympia, Washington will be home to the next Startup Weekend this coming October 15-17. If you’ve been wishing for the longest time to have your own company but your ideas seem so crazy you’d think no one will listen to them, maybe you just haven’t met the right people. But I’m sure you’ll meet them when you come to Startup Weekend.
So, here’s how to get a running start: mingle with people who have the same ideas as yours by reserving one weekend to meet entrepreneurs, advertisers, graphic designers, PR agents, copywriters, investors, programmers, and more. That’s a whole range of people that can help kick start your potential company.
On Day 1, the brainstorming session begins, and everyone who has ideas – no matter how wacky and crazy – can share them with others. And it doesn’t matter if you don’t have one, because you can always get an inspiration from the other ideas you’ll be hearing. After the brainstorming, you get to team up with several people to work on a certain idea and bring that idea to life, in a matter of 2 days! If you don’t think you can do it, just look at the past Startup Weekends in different states – California, Ohio, Oregon, to name a few – and see how successful they had been with just working on one idea per team.
Before the weekend finishes, all teams will present their ideas and their products one by one. And if it sounds good enough, you just might get to see yourself funded by an interested investor, and you just might get that company you’ve always wanted. If this sounds like your idea of fun, then hop on to the Startup Weekend in Washington to be held at Saint Mary’s University. Sign up now before tickets run out.
