Funded by Night is a one-day competition for start-up technology companies. These companies will compete for a chance to win up to a $100,000 in financing from two local venture capital firms, Detroit Venture Partners and Ludlow Ventures.
The Funded by Night program will take place as part of the two-day FutureMidwest conference, April 28th and 29th at the Eastern Market district in Detroit, MI. The competition will take place on Thursday afternoon, April 28th where the selected 25 companies will pitch their products to potential investors.
The winning company will be presented up to $100,000 in funding the same evening during the FutureMidwest networking event and video showcase. While demoing their products, the startup companies will have an opportunity to schedule 1-on-1 meetings with investors the following day.
There are three Startup Weekend companies that are currently scheduled to pitch: Food Circles (Startup Weekend U of M), Bite To Meet (Startup Weekend Detroit) and LaunchRock (Startup Weekend Philadelphia)
There are also a number of startup founders and funders speaking on panels throughout the day, including Micah Baldwin (Graphicly), Bo Fishback (Zaarly) and Lauren Leto from (Bnter, Texts From Last Night)
