Sparkrelief, founded at Startup Weekend Denver in 2010, is a startup focused on providing aid during disasters.  The organizations mission is to “empower communities and organizations to quickly share accurate information and provide relief during a disaster”.

The Sparkrelief model focuses on a three-fold approach to aid: Aggregating a timely real-time information stream about a disaster; organizing relief information to help those affected; and creating a way for others to quickly and easily contribute to relief efforts through monetary or in-kind donations.

The company created a page specifically to support victims of the natural and nuclear disasters in Japan.  Using the simple interface, it is easy to see what help is needed, figure out how you can help, and make a difference right away.
