Al joined The Heritage Group in 2016 in the role of CFO for the Construction and Materials group. In this role, Al provides support to the President of HC&M in all aspects of the business, in particular driving the performance of the HC&M companies to maintain or exceed the return on capital goals established for the businesses.
Al brings to Heritage over 24 years of experience in industrial companies featuring increasing responsibility in finance, treasury, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, general management and engineering. Prior to joining Heritage, Al served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Remy International, a publicly traded automotive parts supplier headquartered in Pendleton, Indiana. Al had previously spent 13 years at Delphi Automotive, where he demonstrated leadership in integrating acquisitions and growing businesses and where he was a key member of the finance team that brought the company out of bankruptcy. While at Delphi Al was involved with launching several businesses including EV battery maker EnerDel and automotive interior systems supplier Inteva Products.
A native of southeastern Michigan, Al started his professional career working for General Motors straight out of high school while pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. Additionally, Al has an M.S. in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University, and has completed professional development classes at the University of Michigan.
Al and his wife Julie are residents of Fishers, where they raise their three children Luke, Lily, and Olivia. In their spare time they enjoy camping, boating, hiking, kayaking and the outdoors in general.
