Bumsoo leads U.S. Investments of Sema Translink Investment. He invests in early stage startups in B2B software, AI (ML) and digital healthcare applications that leverage data & AI. He likes early stage founders who can make data-driven decisions and understand the importance of scalability.

Prior to Sema Translink Investment, Bumsoo founded an online education startup in Silicon Valley, had raised VC funding and successfully led the business to have over 40 high school customers and 250,000+ monthly users. Prior to Brightstorm, he worked as an investment principal at KTB Ventures in Palo Alto. He led investments in Magnum Semiconductor (acquired by GigPeak). Beceem Communications (acquired by Boradcom), Polyfuel and was closely involved with investments in and attended board meetings of Inphi (NYSE: IPHI), Bitfone (acquired by HQ), Berkana Wireless (acquired by Qualcomm) and Novera Optics (acquired by LG_Nortel). Prior to KTB, Bumsoo was a biz. dev. manager at Samsung Corporation.

Bumsoo studied Electrical Engineering at Yonsei University in Korea.
