David Mendez is a venture capitalist, currently as the MD of the Techstars Arcadis program in Amsterdam. He was formerly co-founder and managing partner at CapA, Partner at Butterfly Ventures, and Venture Partner to Good Growth Capital. David also was managing director at Katalyst Venture Partners in NYC. CapA operates out of New York, NY, Charleston, SC and Stockholm, Sweden and invests in B2B technology startups in the Nordics, Israel, USA and throughout Europe. Butterfly Ventures is a seed-stage venture fund in the Nordics. Good Growth Capital is an early stage tech investor between the Southeast and New England. Katalyst was a media-tech investor based in Philadelphia, with offices in NYC, London, DC and Boston.
Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, David co-founded and successfully exited from Supplybase.inc in 2000, a VC-backed B2B supply chain software company, after which he joined Katalyst in NYC as his first role in venture capital.
Before pivoting his career to become an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, David spent the first 10 years of his career in several operational roles in engineering, business development and sales with GE, DuPont and Conoco, in the U.S. and U.K.
