Elaine Feeney currently serves as Board Advisor and President for PointOne Development which develops cloud industry infrastructure such as power, fiber, subsea cable landing stations, data centers and land to minimize time to market assets for hyper-scale cloud providers. Prior to that Elaine served as Vice President of Infrastructure Global Expansion for Amazon Web Services where she was responsible for expanding AWS’s worldwide data center facilities and network infrastructure. Elaine oversaw the strategy, planning and contracting of data center facilities, edge nodes/POPs, dark fiber, subsea cables, and land to continually increase the AWS portfolio to over 200 data centers across 42 diverse availability zones, within 23 geographic regions across the globe.
Elaine has a passion for sustainability and has focused on contributing her technical background and experience to it's highest and best use by actively engaging with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Techstars to mentor innovative start-ups to solve the world's biggest problems related to water, air, and climate issues. Elaine is honored to serve as Board of Trustee for The Nature Conservancy in Colorado. She has been recognized as a strong technical leader by achieving “Outstanding Women in Business”, “Entrepreneur of the Year” and “CEO of the Year” finalist awards. Elaine dedicates time to advocating the benefits of women leaders and increasing the number of women in leadership and technology-related jobs.
Prior to AWS, Elaine was the CEO of Wayin, a social media search and analytics start-up. Before that, Elaine focused on her passion for renewable energy and was responsible for the business development, negotiations and construction of large renewable energy plants. Additionally, she has more than 25 years of diverse entrepreneurial experience and software engineering leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies including Sun Microsystems, Citibank and MCI.
