Fernando has over 15 years of experience in information security and technology, holding senior executive positions with several major PC security firms. He began his information security career at F-Secure, a Finnish Internet security company, and subsequently became one of the early members of the Lavasoft Ad-Aware team as its VP of Strategy and Business Development. He and his team established Ad-Aware as one of the world's most downloaded, used, and distributed PC security products. He served as VP of Channel Marketing at Prevx, a British security software company, acquired by Webroot. Fernando joined Malwarebytes Corporation, the leading provider of anti-malware solutions to consumers and businesses alike, as VP Corporate Development and Strategy. Fernando leads international business development strategy, focusing on the company's worldwide market penetration. Since joining Malwarebytes in 2011, he has opened an office in Estonia, created the mobile product, and expanded channel partnerships through mergers and acquisitions.
