Jake Sigal believes in metro Detroit, and he has an exciting vision for the region’s place in the world of technological innovation.A third-generation entrepreneur with a passion for integrating hardware with software applications, Jake co-founded a new software company, Tome, in 2014 to explore the buzzing “Internet of things” tech space. He also joined the 3-60 LLC real estate group as a partner this year and is actively negotiating a forward-thinking, mixed-use development plan to bring innovative tech companies to downtown Ferndale.

Jake founded his first company, Livio, in his Ferndale home in 2008 and successfully engineered software that enables mobile device applications to work seamlessly with vehicle hardware systems. The company’s work turned heads, and Jake sold Livio to Ford Motor Co. in 2013.

A graduate of Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering, Jake was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year semifinalist in 2011. He was also named Automation Alley’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012, and in 2014, took home a Detroit Free Press Automotive Leadership Award in the up-and-coming category.

Jake and his wife, Abbee, are proud to call Ferndale home. When he’s not engineering new technology and working to take his hometown to the next level, Jake enjoys mountain biking, playing hockey, working as a DJ spinning electronic music, and big-mountain skiing in Vail, Colo.
