John has spent more that 16 years in digital advertising in various leadership roles in business development, marketing, product development and operations management. In each role, his core focus has always been to be client and product focused, and has fundamentally transformed the direction of the business in each position. John understands that building and enduring business doesn't happen quarter to quarter, but through long-term relationship building and integrity.

Currently, at Google, John serves as Head of Publisher Policy Communications, where he works with leadership and functional heads across the company to articulate policy direction and strategy to publishers and the media, as well as provide feedback from publishers on issues important to the overall industry.  He also serves as Google’s subject matter expert for the overall industry, providing publishers and the media with feedback and guidance on important issues. John has been an advertiser and publisher, has built a large ad network, and has managed data for over 90 Ad Networks.  

Prior to Google, John served as GM, Click Forensics at Adometry, where he was responsible for the long term product vision and strategy, marketing, sales, client relations and public outreach.  
Prior to Adometry, John was a Director at, where he built the advertising network, and owned all of the business development, strategy, and account relations for some of the largest publishers in the world.  
John has been quoted in several publications and in research reports on various industry issues. Additionally, John has been a keynote speaker at SEJ Summit, Pubcon, AdTech, SES and OMMA.  John lives in Austin with his daughter, and very active pets. Outside of the world of digital advertising and startups, John is an avid lover of the outdoors, running, cycling and hiking.
