Mike Saffitz is an Engineering Manager at Stripe. Stripe is a set of tools for building and running an internet business. Stripe helps businesses accept payments from anyone, anywhere, and build new kinds of companies like Lyft or Kickstarter. Internally, they say the goal is to increase the GDP of the internet---they want to bring more businesses online worldwide.

Prior to Stripe, Mike Saffitz was the CTO and Co-Founder of Apptentive, the leading provider of in-app communication tools for mobile app publishers. As the CTO, Mike managed the company's technical strategy and the engineering team responsible for product development and operations. Mike's interests and expertise include Amazon Web Services, Ruby on Rails, NoSQL databases, SaaS architecture & delivery, mobile app development, DevOps, and building and scaling technical teams in startup environments.

Prior to founding Apptentive, Mike was a Program Manager at Microsoft responsible for the Windows Mobile/Phone developer experience, tooling, developer device registration, and background processing model.

Mike holds a BA from Pomona College with a double concentration in Computer Science and Mathematical Economics, and a MBA with honors from the University of Washington Foster School of Business.
