Announcing Techstars Berlin Accelerator 2020: Our 10 Latest Companies

This past January, we opened the doors of the Techstars Berlin Accelerator to ten handpicked companies. I’d spoken to over a thousand companies in the months after our applications opened, and narrowing down to our final ten required the help of mentors and colleagues from across the Techstars network. We keep raising the bar for quality each year so it’s no surprise that we’re incredibly selective.
In last year’s accelerator announcement, I pointed to the increasingly important role that Techstars plays in the Berlin ecosystem, and I’m pleased that for the second consecutive year, we’re accelerating a company that won the grand prize at a Techstars Startup Weekend
It’s a year of many seconds — this is the second time I’ve taken the helm of the Techstars Berlin Accelerator (my fourth overall Techstars program), and this is also the second year in a row where one of our founders’ families welcomed a baby in the middle of the program. As a nod to Techstars’ commitment to enriching the entrepreneurial ecosystem with diverse talent, this is the second year in a row that a majority of the companies on the program have at least one female co-founder.
And on a related note, we’ve got two teams of founders comprising identical twins with us on our journey. On a serious note, the companies we’re backing in 2020 have proven themselves in many ways — from the number of awards won, to their prior successes in fundraising, and most importantly, to their track record with satisfied customers. You’ll get to see the progress they’ll have made, when they present at our April 28th Techstars Berlin Virtual Demo Day.
