BOULDER, Colo. - Techstars, the global platform for investment and innovation, appointed a new Techstars Community leadership team to enhance how the company helps communities everywhere build entrepreneurial ecosystems that thrive. The effort will include rolling out a new operating model and improved resources to better support Community Leaders in hosting events, developing their local ecosystems and promoting entrepreneurship.
Techstars Community will be spearheaded by Jose Iglesias, who will lead a globally-distributed team and drive grassroots community and ecosystem engagement around the world. Iglesias will work closely with Keely Cormier, VP Operations, and Emily Skinstad, Director of Community Operations, to scale tools, resources and training for the network of Techstars Community Leaders who manage 1,000 Startup Weekend and 60 Startup Week events globally each year.
“A strong entrepreneurial ecosystem is key to innovation, job growth and economic development, which we need more than ever right now,” said Iglesias. “Entrepreneurs will have a profound impact on all of us as they come up with new innovations to keep us safe, improve our lives and help us connect in meaningful ways. The Techstars Community network is made possible by the many Community Leaders and mentors who work tirelessly to help innovators learn, connect, and grow.”
In addition to marquee events and content, including Techstars Startup Weekend, Techstars Startup Week and Techstars Startup Digest, the Techstars Community team works with local communities in many different ways to help build and strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems.
