Following seven years of active ecosystem development, Hackonnect — in partnership with UzVC — successfully brought the global Techstars methodology to the region with Techstars Uzbekistan.

We are dedicated to transforming Uzbekistan’s tech landscape by bridging local founders with international networks, leveraging years of local expertise to drive global success.

What is the goal of this partnership?

The overall goal is to create more jobs, make Uzbekistan a hub for startups, give local entrepreneurs a platform to enter the global market, and foster a new generation of tech entrepreneurs and billionaires.

What inspired you to take on building a thriving startup community in Uzbekistan?

Entrepreneurship is all about freedom and the diversity of economic growth. With the rapid pace of digital development, there have been many opportunities for ambitious and talented individuals, and I want to be a part of that.

What long-term impact do you hope to achieve?

To build a hub in Uzbekistan and then expand to other Central Asian countries, we plan to create a venture fund in order to find and support a few promising startups.

What problem are you trying to solve in your local startup community?

Making startups more ambitious and globally market-oriented by creating a layer of private organizations that are involved in the development of the startup ecosystem as businesses. This includes bringing in more experienced and qualified individuals to the field of entrepreneurship.

What are your top priorities for supporting local founders?

Provide a global network and starting capital in the form of finance and knowledge, as well as tracking.

How can local founders, investors, and community leaders get involved?

Join the wave of intrapreneurs to get training, be among the first to experience a new product, contribute financially, support increased visibility, and engage experienced individuals in mentoring.
