Adan Ramirez Sanchez (CEO)

Greenfluidics revolutionizes urban sustainability by turning building façades into 'urban lungs'. With their innovative and visually captivating microalgae façades that include photovoltaics, they empower developers and architects to design and construct more efficient green buildings.

1.   Describe the problem/the industry that you are trying to mediate (and precise the UN SDG-s you are solving).

In the face of escalating climate crises, the architectural realm grapples with a dual challenge: curbing the energy inefficiency rampant in commercial buildings, which are responsible for a significant chunk of global CO2 emissions, while appeasing the aesthetic and commercial appetites of modern society. This delicate balancing act finds a remarkable solution in the innovative endeavors of Greenfluidics, whose pioneering technology meticulously addresses UN-SDGs 7, 11, and 13, encompassing affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, and decisive climate action.

Their groundbreaking living system breaks the traditional mold, offering a visually captivating solution that not only significantly reduces a building's carbon footprint but also elevates its aesthetic charm, harmonizing the often-discordant chords of environmental responsibility and commercial allure.

Greenfluidics' avant-garde living system embodies a symbiosis of photovoltaic cells and microalgae cultivation, materializing as visually striking biopanels that transform building facades into living, carbon-guzzling, and oxygen-generating entities. This not only amplifies the market value and appeal of commercial structures but also catalyzes a paradigm shift in sustainable construction, making substantial strides towards actualizing the global aspirations enshrined in the UN SDGs.

The narrative of Greenfluidics is a testament to how innovative design and technology can redefine the architectural industry, propelling urban centers closer to the sustainability and decarbonization goals crucial for a habitable future.

2.   How did the idea to create the company come to mind? How did your team come to be?

During their university years, a spark ignited between Miguel Mayorga, a renowned physicist passionate about creating new technologies, and Adan Ramirez, an enthusiastic visionary in biotechnology. As their collaboration grew, eventually, an initial team was formed, solidifying the shared vision between Miguel and Adan. After years of recognition and global impact, it brought along Richard Unwin, a pioneer in renewable energies with extensive experience in international markets, whose insight shaped the global vision Greenfluidics ought to have. Now fortified as a trio, they attracted bright minds from Mexico, the US, Germany, and the UK, forming an interdisciplinary team rooted in innovation and positive change. Together, with the backing of an advisory board from prestigious institutions and a marketing team with visual narrative prowess, Greenfluidics evolved into an entity ready to face the challenges of urban sustainability, bridging continents in its mission to transform energy efficiency and architectural aesthetics, thereby promoting a smooth transition towards more sustainable cities.

Our journey with Greenfluidics unfolds like a cherished narrative filled with fervor and a dash of nostalgia. The core of our pride resides in the global tapestry of minds we've woven together, a cadre spanning three generations united by a shared vision for a better future and a legacy. It's astonishing to reminisce about those early days—our impassioned dialogues as friends on how we could play a part in healing the planet from a scientific trench, sketching rudimentary ideas on scraps of paper. Those humble sketches have now blossomed into a tangible prototype, a living testament to our collective dream. The camaraderie, the endless brainstorming sessions, and the sleepless nights have now translated into a real-world prototype, a beacon of what passionate hearts and keen minds can accomplish together.

The trail we've blazed so far is but a prologue to the odyssey of innovation that lies ahead, and each day, we're fueled by the boundless possibilities that tomorrow holds.

5.   How do you plan to measure the positive impact of your company in the next 5 years?

In the next five years, we aim to narrate Greenfluidics' impact through tangible metrics. Carbon Sequestration will depict our direct fight against carbon emissions. Improved Air Quality will speak to our endeavor in breathing life back into urban locales. Through Building Efficiency Savings, we’ll showcase our commitment to harmonizing modernity with sustainability. Temperature Regulation Impact will demonstrate our gentle touch on energy conservation, while Improved Health Outcomes will tell tales of our contribution to a healthier living environment. Each metric is a chapter in our journey, embodying our holistic approach to fostering a sustainable urban transition.
