Toasty's goal is to support the shift towards a more sustainable lifestyle through a discovery shopping app that makes the best eco-responsible French brands desirable and accessible. Our vision is of a world in which sustainable consumption is the new norm.
80% of European consumers are willing to improve their consumption patterns in the areas of fashion, cosmetics and household products, but only a minority of them take action. However, fast fashion and greenwashing are everywhere (Shein H&M Zara). There are two reasons why it is almost impossible to access sustainable consumption: eco-responsible brands are not very visible and the prices are too high.
Toasty contributes to the achievement of the following SDGs:
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production. Our products have an average carbon footprint three times lower than market standards, according to the Carbonfact methodology.
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth. All revenues generated support a more local and human-based economy which is not possible with Nike, Adidas, etc.
We realised that we were having a hard time finding alternatives to our consumption patterns, finding a good pair of sustainable trainers or jeans was really hard for us. Antoine and Arnaud are friends from high school and met Renan while they were working on this issue of facilitating access to more sustainable and ethical brands.
The three main reasons why we decided to join Techstars Sustainability Paris is first of all the access to a huge global network and expertise to help us achieve our very ambitious goals. In addition, the recommendations of Techstars alumni who advised us to participate in the program strongly convinced us. On top of that, the financial and human support is essential to help us scaling the product and the team to the next level.
Our community. We have built a network of more than hundreds of brands (already 200 operations launched on our app) and tens of thousands of users in less than 6 months, they all believe in us and support our project.
Our goal is to give access to brands that have a carbon footprint at least 3 times lower than the market standards. To do so, we need two things:
Improve our scoring tools and methodologies by working with partners such as Carbonfact, Clearfashion and Moralscore.
Become an enabler for our brands: Support our brands accessing these scoring technologies to help them improve the way they measure their own impact
