We’re thrilled to announce that Matthew Graham, CEO of Sino Global Capital, is joining the Launchpool Web3 Techstars Accelerator as a mentor.  Kicking off in April 2022 in Dublin, Ireland, the Launchpool Web3 Techstars accelerator is working with entrepreneurs building blockchain technology and tokenisation protocols driving towards our decentralised future.

Sino Global Capital provides strategic investment to best-in-class companies that are moving the blockchain and digital assets ecosystems forward, and then help them to thrive in the Asia market.

Matthew has seven years of mainland China investment banking experience with a focus on representing international technology companies in China for strategic partnership and investment. Matthew has been involved in blockchain since 2013, first slowly, then all at once. As Managing Partner of Sino Global's Liquid Value blockchain fund, Matthew invests in blockchain technology with strategic relevance for China.

On November 23rd, we had a fireside chat on Crowdcast with Matthew as part of the Techstars Web3 Convo Series bringing the mind of the mentor to the masses so the global Web3 founder community can benefit from the insights of some of the leading minds in the Web3 space.

During this chat (also available as an episode of the MoneyNeverSleeps podcast), Matthew shared his insights on what he looks for in the Web3 space:

“At our core, we’re bottom-up investors, so we do spend a lot of time really getting to know founders in a very deep way. The conversations naturally happen about what people think is important. When they’re talking about their vision, it's like they're talking about the kid that they want to have, or just had and want to raise.

“These conversations very naturally tend to flow in that direction, and I pay enormously close attention to these conversations.  I think ultimately, it's a feel, it's an art with pattern matching, but it all comes back to people who are doing things for the right reasons.”

We’re thrilled to have Matthew on board as a mentor for this program, and we’d like to thank him for volunteering his time to take part in this program.  Given his investing approach, knowledge, network, and long-term view on the Web3 space, we know that he's going to be incredibly helpful as a mentor to the founding teams that become part of the Launchpool Web3 Techstars Accelerator program.
