Applications are open now for 19 Techstars accelerators — and we hope you will apply. During the COVID-19 crisis, we need innovators and solutions more than ever. We want to help your startup succeed, and help move us all forward through this uncertain time.

Each year, Techstars invests in 10 companies per accelerator, and in 2018 when I first started we had 36 accelerators around the world. Now, we’re up to 47, meaning we’ll accept 470+ companies into our accelerators this year, investing up to $120K as usual. For those who like big numbers, that’s potentially $56,400,000 on seed-to-early stage startups. That’s what we committed to, and that’s what we’ll do.

This is a challenging time to start a company, but it is also a wonderful time for innovation and entrepreneurship. As Techstars Global Startup Pipeline Manager, it’s my job to help find great startups for our accelerators. Right now, this feels more important than ever. As Techstars Cofounder and Managing Partner David Cohen points out, this is a moment when iconic companies will come into being. This is the time when bold entrepreneurs with big ideas are needed.

We will adapt our accelerator experiences based on changing global events and ensuring the health and safety of our participants. No matter what, we will always be innovative and #GiveFirst. Fortunately, we have a lot of experience in running successful virtual programs, remote meetings and events — and so as a global, fully distributed company, we will tap into this vast experience, and unlock the power of our network.

Again, Techstars is open for business - please apply for your choice of accelerator. If you’re not sure which one is right for you, sign up for an upcoming Virtual Meet and Greet, at which I’ll share more information about each accelerator.

We’ve also put together a list of resources and advice to support entrepreneurs, and we’re adding to it constantly.

I look forward to reading your application.
