Demo Day is almost here!
Historically, startup accelerators like Y Combinator and Techstars hosted end-of-program pitch events where founders showcased their progress to a room full of investors. Demo days were designed as a concentrated space for early-stage founders to attract capital, connect with angels, and gain media exposure, mirroring how venture funding gatherings in the 1950s brought founders and financiers together. However, Demo Days as a venue for fundraising no longer works as it once did; in fact, most investments are secured behind closed doors, as opposed to through pitch-day performances.
This is why, we’re putting the demo back in Demo Day this 2025. Our founders will take the stage to showcase real products, real customers, and real traction; connecting with the people who can take them to their next milestone.
What to Expect
On Monday, December 8, join 2,500 members of Sydney’s startup community at Darling Harbour Theatre for the Techstars Tech Central Sydney Accelerator Demo Day. Meet the people shaping Australia’s next generation of global companies and be part of the energy that powers them.
