Jun 14, 2021

Design is the approach I take with my work. Events and projects are the ways that, over the past 22 years, I have engaged the startup, running, and robotics spaces.

01. How did you get involved in Techstars Startup Weekend?

Phew! 2010 I attended Startup Weekend Indianapolis; had a blast, moved to Boulder, Colorado for summer 2011. I wanted to experience a place where such a cool event could be born. Since then, I have volunteered, organized, participated in, facilitated, and advised all of the programs. I love the camaraderie.

02. How have Techstars Startup Weekends impacted your life?

It's a core 1/3 of my identity; so, it's helped me shape my understanding of the startup world.

Read interviews with more of our amazing Community Leaders and learn how their tireless efforts are growing startup communities all over the world.

03. Why are you passionate about entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is the foundation of how I think and act; it's what I found myself doing when reflecting on what I do.

04. How else are you involved in your community's startup ecosystem?

Advising programs, mentoring programs, mentoring founders, teaching ESHIP, and helping encourage more communities, founders, and innovators to take the next step in their journey.

05. What's next for your community's entrepreneurship ecosystem?

My community of ecosystem builders throughout Indiana, the U.S.A., and globally are making the long slow shift to entrepreneurial economic development shorter and faster.
