Techstars Columbus Powered By The Ohio State University Announces Inaugural Class

The wait is over - Techstars Columbus is proud to welcome the first 12 companies to our program in partnership with The Ohio State University and the Center for Software Innovation!

We’ve spent months working with leaders in Columbus, Ohio at Ohio State and across the globe to assemble a deep bench of mentors, investors and founders committed to the success of these founding teams. We’ve been blown away by the reception of the Columbus ecosystem to this program, and Techstars is deeply committed to reciprocating that by being a powerful force for entrepreneurship in the region.

We set out to identify the best software companies in the world, and in our own backyard. 5 companies already have a presence in Columbus and others hail from the Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Florida, New Jersey, London, Berlin, Israel and Armenia.

Our aim was to bring together a group of mission-driven founders working on problems uniquely suited to the exceptional resources available to them at Ohio State and central Ohio in healthcare, alternative energy, automotive, agriculture, AI and commerce to name a few.

We believe these companies are building the critical infrastructure for healthier, more fulfilling lives for each of us now and for generations to come. Over the next 13 weeks, they will be based in Columbus and work with our team, exceptional EIRs and mentors to master the art of building momentum in their businesses, the building block for success in sales, fundraising, team building and much more.

Finally, we want to single out Shereen Agrawal, Executive Director for the Center of Software Innovation at Ohio State, and Ratmir Timashev, whose founding gift established the Center’s vision. Their partnership has had a profound impact in identifying these companies and crafting a program that leverages the best Ohio State has to offer founders.

"We are thrilled to welcome the inaugural cohort of Techstars ventures to Columbus,” said Agrawal. “It’s been incredible to see both the expansive Techstars community and the Columbus entrepreneurial ecosystem, as always, show their support. Through this program, we are excited to continue our dedication to fostering high-impact innovation.”

We can’t wait for you to meet these founders - please join us on March 14th for a casual meet & greet and see all the incredible progress they make over the next three months culminating with Demo Day in Columbus on May 29th.
