The Techstars Founder Catalyst Global Fall 2026 Program is a virtual pre-accelerator powered by Techstars, designed exclusively for founders from our partner communities in Istanbul, Sarajevo, Omaha, Uzbekistan, and Belfast.


Running from September 22 to November 27, 2026, this highly selective 10-week experience will help early-stage founders sharpen their story, validate product-market fit, and accelerate their path toward growth and funding.


Participants would gain access to world-class Techstars masterclasses, tailored bonus workshops, strategic partner sessions (including exclusive tools + credits), and personalized 1:1 guidance from Techstars mentors, operators, and investors.


We’re looking for ambitious entrepreneurs with deep problem insight, strong execution, resilience, and a drive to build scalable companies in large, meaningful markets. About the Program


Over 10 weeks, selected founders from Sarajevo, Omaha, Istanbul, Belfast, and Uzbekistan will take part in world-class Techstars masterclasses, tailored founder workshops, unicorn founder fireside chats, and mentorship from Techstars mentors, operators, and investors. Throughout the program, founders will receive personalized pitch feedback and work alongside a global peer community to sharpen their story, strengthen their business model, validate their go-to-market strategy, and build momentum toward future growth and funding.

🏆 Who Should Apply?

Early-stage founders currently building in or from Omaha, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Uzbekistan, or Belfast. This program is sector-agnostic and open to both solo founders and founding teams.


Selection Criteria:

  • Exceptional founder qualities, including deep insight into the problem, strong execution skills, resilience, coachability, a passion for learning, and the ability to collaborate and attract talent

  • A scalable market with strong growth potential

  • Pre- or post-revenue startups; if post-revenue, recurring revenue should be up to approximately $5K MRR

  • Beyond ideation: a startup that is already moving toward product, validation, or growth

  • Has raised no more than $400K in external funding to date

  • Demonstrated traction or active customer discovery, such as pilots, user engagement, pre-orders, customer interviews, waitlists, partnerships, or early revenue, is a plus

Who is eligible?
  • Must be building a for-profit company; non-profits are not eligible

  • Must be currently building in or from Omaha, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Uzbekistan, or Belfast

  • Must commit to attending masterclasses, mentor sessions, pitch feedback, and the final showcase

  • Must be prepared to complete due diligence and follow the Techstars Code of Conduct

  • Must have reliable internet access and at least one English-speaking team member, as this is a virtual program delivered in English

  • We cannot accept applications from founders doing business in: Russia, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, or Crimea/Donetsk/Luhansk regions of Ukraine


At what stage should a company be to apply?

Early stage. Solo founders are welcome and both pre-revenue and post-revenue startups may apply. If post-revenue, startups should have recurring revenue of up to approximately $5K MRR.


What type of sessions does the program include?
  • Weekly live masterclasses

  • Unlimited world-class mentorship and 1:1 mentor conversations based on founder needs, sector, stage, and business priorities

Where will the program be based?

The program is 100% virtual — no relocation or travel required.


Will I receive funding?

No, this is a non-equity, free pre-accelerator.


Will completing Founder Catalyst help me apply to a Techstars Accelerator later?

Yes! While there’s no guaranteed invitation, Founder Catalyst participants have a 6x higher acceptance rate into Techstars accelerators compared to the general applicant pool.


How many startups are selected?

We typically accept 5 startups per partner community, depending on ecosystem capacity and applicant volume.


Is there an attendance requirement?

Yes, founders are expected to fully engage in the program, including masterclasses, workshops, mentor meetings, pitch feedback, local engagement, and the final showcase.


What is the time commitment?

Expect to spend up to 8–12 hours per week for 10 weeks. This includes 2-3 hours in masterclasses, 2–4 mentor meetings (optional), 1 hour Pitch Feedback, and 1 hour of local engagement. Founders working full-time or part-time on their companies are both welcome.


Do I need to be in a specific industry?

No, the program is sector-agnostic and open to startups across industries, as long as they meet the eligibility and selection criteria.


What are the evaluation criteria?

We evaluate applications and interviews based on:


Team, including solo founders: Are the founders capable, coachable, and deeply connected to the problem? Do they show resilience, curiosity, and the ability to execute?


Idea / Product: Is the solution innovative or meaningfully better than current alternatives? Has progress been made on the MVP, product, or validation?


Market Size / Opportunity: Is the market large, growing, and able to support meaningful scale? Does the team understand the customer, market dynamics, and path to monetization?


Traction: Are there early signals of demand, such as users, pilots, revenue, waitlists, partnerships, awards, customer interviews, or other validation? If already launched, recurring monthly revenue should be up to approximately $5K MRR.


Program Benefit: Will the founders benefit meaningfully from the program’s structure, mentorship, resources, and Techstars network?


What happens after the program?

You’ll leave with sharper thinking, stronger positioning, and meaningful connections to Techstars mentors, alumni, and MDs. Many Founder Catalyst alumni have gone on to:

  • Join Techstars Accelerator programs

  • Raise pre-seed or seed rounds

  • Formalize partnerships sparked through network conversations, such as mentors
