For us, it represents a bigger mission: helping build a real, lasting startup culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bringing Techstars to Sarajevo has meant months of hard work, global coordination, and the support of incredible mentors who believe in the potential of this ecosystem. But what makes this very first Startup Weekend truly special is the transformation we expect to see: people walking in as strangers with raw ideas and walking out as teams with prototypes — more confident, more inspired, and more certain that they can build something real. That is the magic we’re hoping for.

Since the Techstars Kick-Off event, something has shifted. The momentum is undeniable. We’re seeing talented students, professionals from local companies, and first-time founders, people who rarely have the chance to collaborate, spending more time together, connecting deeply, exchanging ideas, and replacing hesitation with confidence and uncertainty with action.

Startup Weekend is exactly the environment Sarajevo has been waiting for. And if we get this right, we’re convinced this is only the beginning. Big things can happen from here, and we can’t wait to see the results.
