Vice President of Startup Programs leading the team supporting early stage startup ecosystem development including Startup Weekend, Startup Week and Startup Digest.
Prior to to becoming VP was Director of Program Operations for Techstars Accelerator and Startup Programs. Previously, CMO at Startup Weekend and CEO at Seattle 2.0 (acquired by GeekWire). Prior to tech was award-winning journalist for many years in Seattle and Denver with network coverage for CBS and CNN.
Chris Heivly is one of the nation’s leading experts in how to turn startups into multimillion-dollar companies and has been dubbed the “Startup Whisperer.” Heivly is a serial entrepreneur (MapQuest co-founder) and early-stage investor with company-building experience from $0 to $25M. He has also personally directed over $75 million in investment capital on behalf of these and other companies. Heivly current serves as one of two managing directors of The Startup Factory, the largest seed investment firm in the Southeast and as an EIR at Techstars.
Director, Community Development
Cali Harris is the Director of Community Development for Techstars. In this role, Cali works alongside the leaders of emerging startup communities to help them grow and sustain vibrant startup economies.
Cali has held prior positions at Techstars, was the Managing Director for Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Design for the University of Colorado Boulder, was Director of Communications for a social impact startup, and was Program Manager for an Ogilvy marketing company.
Senior Implementation Consultant, Ecosystem Development
Matt Helt is the Senior Implementation Consultant for the Ecosystem Development team at Techstars. In this role, Matt works with various groups and stakeholders in cities around to world to help them grow their startup ecosystems through a mix of cultural changes and activities - all of which is informed by an assessment Techstars leads to capture relevant data.
